Association for Biodiversity Conservation – ACDB

Association for Biodiversity Conservation – ACDB is a regional NGO with excellent expertise in concrete conservation, including saproxylic insects (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_eVMNFYhMw). ACDB is very experienced with the target area and will contribute to the implementation of most activities (preparatory, concrete, monitoring, awareness). Besides, ACDB will assist EPA VN in creating the species action plan, and actively facilitate the replication of activities in other Romanian Natura 2000 sites, mostly by working with other NGOs from their large network.

Putna-Vrancea Natural Park Administration – PVNP

Putna-Vrancea Natural Park Administration – PVNP is the legal administrator of ROSCI0208 Putna-Vrancea, where most of the actions take place. The administration will implement several field activities (concrete, monitoring, awareness), and will be the link between EPA and local owners. The park will assist in signing the contracts for using the wood for concrete conservation activities, supervise the enforcement of contracts with landowners, and actively facilitate the replication of activities in other Romanian Natura 2000 sites. PVNP is a branch of RO State Forest Management Company and will provide an excellent connection with other forests/park managers for replication of our approach. It is also responsible with the implementation of conservation activities in Putna-Vrancea, and thus, ensure the sustainability of results.

The University of Bucharest – UNIBUC

The University of Bucharest – UNIBUC is the leading research institution in the country, having a great experience in promoting and administrating large conservation projects across the country. UNIBUC will bring in experience in implementing effective conservation activities but also monitoring (see https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ecolind.2019.01.038) and awareness activities. UNIBUC will supervise the implementation of activities, lead the awareness package, propose remedies when the KPI shows weaknesses in the implementation, and provide the scientific background for actions.
